Just like Misty Beethoven was a retelling of Pygmalion, Pretty Peaches {and a similar movie made the same year called 'The Erotic Adventures Of Candy'} are retellings of Candida by Voltaire.

Peaches is a naive young lady.  After attending the wedding of her father {and realizing his new bride is black and her own age}, Peaches quickly gets upset and leaves.  But on the way out of town she gets into an accident and is knocked unconscious.  When she awakens she is being raped and she has retrograde amnesia.  What follows is her quest to discover who she is.  In her search she hooks up with a mad scientist with a thing for enemas, is raped by a bunch of lesbians {in front of paying customers}, is seduced by a stranger who tries to help her, then ends up in an orgy.

It is during the orgy that she is recognized by her father while giving him head and regains her memories.

This is a true classic, and it features the first performances of 2 true Porn legends, Desiree Cousteau and Juliet Anderson {who in Tangerine would acquire the nickname 'Aunt Peg'}.  Desiree won the 1978 AFAA Best Acress award for her performance of Peaches.

Even though sources claim this is from 1980. I believe it is more likely 1977, and the reason is Desiree's hair.

When she was in Europe working as a nude model, she had long hair that fell past her shoulders or longer.  But right at about the time she moved back to the US and performed in Pretty Peaches (her first theatrical porn), she cut it amazingly short.  And her career can be followed as over the next several years her hair got longer and longer.  And in this it is very short.

And that was not unusual, as many times the makers of these loops (and even movies themselves) would hold onto them for years before releasing them, or release them over and over under different names.

Now while most are probably not aware of this, the Grateful Dead are literally a "e;One Hit Wonder"e;.  Even though they were formed way back in 1965, they only had a single song hit the Top 40 pop charts.  Only 6 of their songs ever even hit the Top 100, the highest prior being "e;Truckin"e; in 1970 reaching number 64.  And their highest selling song is their classic 1987 "e;Touch of Grey"e;, which hit number 6.  By that time the group was ageing and they knew they did not have long left as a group, so decided to create a song that would actually achieve mainstream success.

Too Hot to Touch is a classic set at a popular Ski Resort where an upcoming Championship Ski Racing Tournament is being held. Amanda is a top-rank ski racer who along with her friends, are there to win the race so they can then proceed to to the Olympics. For those who were not alive in 1984, it is almost hard to explain the cultural hit that was known as "e;Miami Vice"e;.  Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas created a true hot and pop cultural phenomenon that reached all levels of culture, including music and porn.

Glenn Frey and the show creators became aware of the song at about the same time, and it seems like a perfect match as the song dealt with a common subject of the cop show. This even led to Glenn himself appearing in a first season show titled "e;Smuggler's Blues"e;, and a music video that was influenced by the show itself.

This was credited to "e;Dionne Warwick and Friends"e;, and it was Dionna and some of her friends getting together sing a 1982 Rod Stewart song.  But in this version the singers include Elton John, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder.  This was one of the first "e;Charity Records"e;, as the money raised for this went to AIDS research.

In this, I simply took another interpretation as for what "e;friends"e; might be doing together.

The History of Pornography (Main Movie)

This is a rather interesting one, as it not only pretends to be a look into the history of porn, it even pretends to be an English translation of a film made in Europe.  However, this was entirely made in the US by Bob Chinn.  In essence it is a "e;loop holder"e;, but is an interesting look at porn before it was legal.

In short, it is a good example of early porn.  Poorly written, acted, and shot with little dialogue and bad dubbing in most places.  But this was towards the end of the "e;underground"e; era, right before it would go mainstream.  In this, it is the story of Homer.  A henpecked man who works as an editor for a porn company.  And his imagination takes him to a great many places.

This is a remastered version, and one of the best jobs in such I have ever seen.  The picture and sound are exceptional, and a lot of work obviously went into this.

Not only having subtitles in multiple languages, but also a commentary track which I have to admit I enjoyed reading as I watched it yet again.  Kind of like what the old VH1 program "e;Pop-Up Videos"e; would have been like, if it was on a porn channel.

This was also a movie that resulted in a lawsuit, as the scenes at the end featuring Constance Money were originally filmed it was claimed for "e;The Opening of Misty Beethoven"e;, but never used.  Metzger instead included them in this film, resulting in a lawsuit from Constance for unpaid work.  The lawsuit was eventually settled out of court, and resulted in the now standard practice of not including footage shot for one film into another without compensation.

This is the final porn movie made by Radley Metzger under the name Henry Paris.  In short, Gloria Leonard plays Maraschino Cherry.  She runs a brothel in New York, and her sister Penny Cherry (Jenny Baxter) comes to visit and learn something of the business.

As is usual for a Henry Paris movie, it is a bit on the artistic side, but not as much as his previous efforts.  After this he returned to direct a few more mainstream movies while still making a few porn completely uncredited.
