| At Jazzdor Festival in 2012, Billy Hart and his quartet |
| interpret original compositions and jazz standards |
| covers with great skill and talent. Drummer Billy Hart’s |
| career is simply monumental: he first trained with the |
| Montgomery Brothers, then went to New-York in the |
| seventies to play with McCoy Tyner, Wayne Shorter, and |
| Herbie Hancock. Watch him here at his best, playing |
| alongside Mark Turner, Ben Street and Ethan Iverson. |

| He is officially a jazz master since his nomination in |
| 2022 by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). This |
| consecration is the logical conclusion to an atypically |
| long and impeccable career. He has been involved in the |
| evolution of jazz for 60 years. Still active at 81 years |
| old, he is now in the restricted club of great jazz |
| masters. |
