Audio/Video Quality: Cum Fart Cocktails #7 was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen it was shot in by director Juan Cuba for Red Light District, this standard definition release sporting an MPEG-2 codec with 480i resolution. I've long been familiar with his work at Platinum X Pictures/Red Light as a behind the scenes guy and his skills as a full fledged director at various companies so it is good to see he hasn't lost any of the raw energy he tends to capture in his productions. The lighting was solid in most scenes here, a few hallway shots left in by the editor that looked poorly lit but adding some spontaneity all the same. The composition of the shots seemed to enhance the look of most of the ladies, showing more improvement than most of his previous works. There were no obvious compression artifacts (though the bitrate hovered around the 2.9 Mbps range) so even the mastering of the DVD was handled well and some of you will appreciate the lack of the formerly displayed watermark of the company logo in the lower right hand corner of the screen during the show. The 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo (in 192 Kbps) was in English but the actual audio appeared to be shot in monaural with the processing added later on (in the mastering part of the process). The vocals were generally clear but lacked any separation or dynamic range so this is an area that Juan needs to work more on (just like most of his associates in the industry). The music starting each scene was really generic but that was probably the only real surprise for me in terms of negative technical matters, the rest being pretty decently handled.

Body of Review: Juan Cuba took over many of the directing responsibilities at Red Light District during the time I call "e;The Unraveling"e;. That was when most of the staff left the company to pursue their own interests, the net beneficiaries being Jules Jordan Video and Evil Angel. There were some that claimed anyone who stayed was merely a "e;hack"e; (among other choice words) but in my estimation, the company still produced some really heated smut, albeit the hit to miss ratio somewhat skewed (particularly in the following months). That said, Juan has repeatedly shown that he can make decent quality porn with shoestring budgets that none of his former peers would have dreamed of, his latest effort being to take over the helm of the raunchy Cum Fart Cocktails #7. For those in the know, the series was founded by admitted pervert Jake Malone, his twisted vision catering to the then-popular idea that the nastier the sex, the better, the series centering on anal cream pies being farted out, typically into the face of another gal. While not my thing, I give credit where due, the series was truthfully advertised, so seeing hotties like Francesca Le, Aiden Starr, Emma Heart, and Sarah Vandella as headliners, I couldn't pass it up. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:
