In episode 11 of St. Catherines School, the netball team celebrates a victory against a rival school. The headmaster praises top scorer Amelia Jane Rutherford but notices she is wearing lipstick, which violates school regulations. Upon returning to school, Amelia is punished with a hand spanking and a slipper in the punishment room. Despite this, she reapplies her lipstick during recess and gets caught again. As a consequence, she receives a punishment using a two-tailed Lochgelly tawse, resulting in a sore, red striped bottom.
