The narrative begins when a detour on a jogging path leads a character named Alice to St. Peter's Gate, where she faces an unexpected twist of fate that calls her to glory prematurely. Although the Heavenly Gentleman expresses regret for this error, he assures Alice that he will eventually find a suitable host for her spirit.
In the interim, to prevent her spirit from becoming restless, he arranges for her to temporarily inhabit the bodies of various doomed young women, all of whom are golden-haired and embody a mix of allure and restraint. These women are portrayed as struggling to cope with their lives, while Alice, eager to make the most of her limited time on earth, seeks to embrace every moment.
