Plot Summary: Set in France in 1625, the narrative begins with Queen Anne of Austria, who, after a brief affair with the Duke of Buckingham, gifts him a diamond necklace. This act of indiscretion comes to the attention of Cardinal Richelieu, who aims to use it to undermine the Queen's reputation and destabilize the monarchy. In response, he sends Milady de Winter to seduce the Duke and retrieve the necklace as evidence of Anne's betrayal. To counter this plot, the Queen's servant, Constance, seeks the help of her lover, D'Artagnan, along with his comrades, the King's Musketeers. Their mission is to recover the necklace, protect the Queen, and thwart the Cardinal's scheme.
