In Chapter 1, the Patterson family, consisting of five members, is introduced. They wake up to loud noises from their new neighbors, who also form a family of five. As they meet, a mutual attraction develops among the family members.

In Chapter 2, the white mother invites the neighbor's child over for dinner. During the meal, her curiosity leads her to engage in an inappropriate act under the dinner table. After dinner, her dissatisfaction continues, resulting in further inappropriate behavior while her husband is distracted by a basketball game.
