"Shoot Your Shot" follows the journey of a salesman named Nicky Rebel, who works in a dynamic office environment while aspiring to be a successful writer. He is romantically interested in a co-worker named Penelope Kay, but faces obstacles from his rival, Peter Green.

Initially, Nicky struggles to express his feelings for Penelope. When she realizes her mistake in choosing Peter, she attempts to pursue Nicky but also encounters challenges. Feeling disheartened, Nicky decides to fully commit to his writing aspirations, hoping to become worthy of Penelope's affection.

As both characters grow—Nicky through his writing endeavors and Penelope through her career advancements—they gain confidence in themselves and their desires. Once Nicky's novel is published, he prepares to express his feelings for Penelope. The story raises the question of whether she still has interest in him.
