TEACHERS is yet another exceptionally well-made feature video (shot in high definition) written and directed by Robby D. I've had my ups and downs with his work over the years, but when he's good, he's very good, and with this video, he's excellent. Watching TEACHER reminded me of those classic porno flicks where high school settings were commonplace (DEBBIE DOES DALLAS and VISTA VALLEY PTA are just two flicks which spring to mind), and sexy students getting it on with their teachers were not just real life MILF-fodder for the mainstream tabloids.

Though the plot is less than complex, the sex scenes are connected by way of scrapbook which is full of graphic hardcore descriptions and circulated among students and faculty. Loosely based on the 2004 hit film MEAN GIRLS (which to me, was not nearly as clever nor as witty as 1989's similar cult classic, HEATHERS), the book is an episodic device leading into several top-notch sex scenes performed with gusto by the very impressive cast. For example, Jesse Jane's slurping, panting blowjob to completion on Tommy Gunn occurs within the first ten minutes, and it is sight to behold. She puts her whole body in motion while sucking him off, recalling the talents of legendary oralists like Tianna and Debi Diamond. All the standing doggy fucking along with Miss Jane's smiling and aggressive attitude make this opening scene a true winner. Kudos to Robby D. for leaving the soundtrack au naturel, instead of overdubbing the scene with generic music.

Other notable scenes include Evan Stone's menage a trois with Jenna Haze and Stoya. He plays a teacher who propagandizes abstinence and using rubbers (?), prompting students Jenna Haze and Stoya to skip math class so they can learn more about putting on a condom. They kneel before Mr. Stone and slip on different prophylactics with their mouth, which is a hands-on education worthy of my tax dollars. Fortunately, the covers come off after a few sampled flavors, and the threeway which follows makes all the safe sex preliminaries worthwhile. Stoya does some nice pussy-to-mouth cocksucking, and both girls take it anally before sharing the cumshot. Even though it isn't Jenna's dirtiest scene ever, it's a must-see for her die-hard fans. The climax of TEACHERS brings us to an orgy which takes place on a real school bus (we've come a long way since Dorothy LeMay's blowjob scene on John Leslie in HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES). Though technically well-executed, the finale might have benefitted from more girl on girl action, but that's a minor complaint.

The acting is surprisingly good among the lead cast members, with Jesse Jane standing out as a popular high school student (naturally, we assume all the characters are aged 18 or here at "e;Fillmore Bush Academy"e;) and leader of her clique. Lisa Ann, as the horny office receptionist, uses her body language expertly right before her very seductive scene with Scott Nails, and even Jenna Haze (better known for her stupendous physical talents rather than for her theatrical experience) delivers her lines convincingly!

Watching it a second time, I appreciated all the different elements which make TEACHERS more than just another porn feature, including the different locations (Mason Moore, Angelina Valentine and Erik Everhard get it on in a chemistry lab, while Jesse, Riley Steele and Ben English take advantage of the principal's office and so forth), creative matchings (the majority of the sex scenes involve more than just two players), and the attention to detail (the chemistry lab actually looks like a lab complete with Periodic Table, and Elgar's "e;Pomp and Circumstance"e; is excerpted appropriately during the opening credits). The late John Hughes himself might have had a good chuckle or two watching this indirect tribute to his "e;Brat Pack"e; films of the 1980's.

The bonus features are sparse (and therefore, prevent the Blu-ray from achieving a perfect rating across the board), but the Behind The Scenes segment makes up for most of the deficiencies. Directed by longtime Digital Playground filmmaker Joone along with Samantha Lewis, the featurette is a playfully assembled collection of interviews, extra footage, and candid discussions with the cast and crew. Of course, it doesn't have the same depth and vision of Les Blank's BURDEN OF DREAMS, but it's far more enjoyable than what typically passes as a "e;documentary."e; Evan Stone hams it up a bit, and Jenna Haze is a regular chatterbox as she gets screwed, but shots of Katsuni teaching Riley Steele some French phrases, followed shortly by her sticking a transparent plug into Miss Steele's butt ("e;Is it in?"e; she asks after Katsuni has completed the task) are among the many amusing moments in this under twenty minute production.

As with almost every Digital Playground title, TEACHERS looks great on DVD, with crisp details and lush colors. The audio, as previously noted, is excellent overall. Dialogue is intelligible, the music score is well-balanced, and the natural sounds of sex are arousingly clear and dynamic (so clear, that I actually wondered if there was undetectable post-production overdubbing of all the gasps and moans). There were a few audio glitches where the narration dropped out or was delayed, but it doesn't negatively affect the main content.

Just when I thought that adult movies would forever be relegated to endless television parodies (haven't we seen enough of these by now?) and tired, old vampire tales, along comes a title like TEACHERS which shows us how great adult features can be. This is one of my favorite pornos of 2009.
