Erich von Götha, born in 1924 in London, UK, is a pseudonym for British illustrator and comic book artist Robin Ray, who has also used the names Janssens, Baldur Grimm, and Robbins. Ray is recognized for his erotic and sadomasochistic art. In the early 2000s, he held a solo exhibition titled "Sweat Tears Reflections" at the Mondo Bizzarro Gallery in Bologna. Ray studied drawing and painting for four years at an art school and began his publication journey in the 1980s with the comic magazine "Torrid." His strips from the first 14 issues of "Torrid" were later featured in the French magazines "YES" and "Bédé Adult." He gained prominence with works such as "Contes à Rebours" for "YES" and "Crimes et Délits," the latter being his last work after Georges Lévis. Additionally, he has contributed illustrations for various publishing companies. His most notable work,"The Troubles of Janice," set in the era of the Marquis de Sade, was released in four volumes, with the first published in 1980. Other significant works include "The Education of Sophie," "A Very Special Prison," "The Dream of Cecilia," and "Twenty Twenty 2."
