Grant tells the remarkable and quintessentially American story of a humble man who overcomes incredible obstacles, rises to the highest ranks of power and saves the nation not once, but twice. With a seamless blend of dramatic scenes, expert commentary and beautifully enhanced archival imagery, this series uncovers the true legacy of the unlikely hero who led the nation during its greatest tests: The Civil War and then Reconstruction - the herculean task of reconciling the North and the South. During this time, Grant acted as a pillar of strength when our country suffered its greatest-ever loss of American life. One of the most courageous and unexpected initiatives of Grant's presidency was protecting the right to vote for the four million formerly enslaved people freed at the end of the war in the face of violent and widespread resistance. Grant features on-camera interviews with top experts in the field including Ron Chernow, retired United States Army General and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director David Petraeus, acclaimed author and journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates and professor of English at West Point Elizabeth Samet to name a few.

--- FAQ ---

What are HONE Encodes?
HONE is primarily a little Plex-based Discord community focused entirely on x265 10bit content for efficiency and quality. While most of these encodes come from other very popular x265 encoders, we feel there's still plenty of media missing from the HEVC scene. We've founded HONE encodes to contribute to the cause and give back to the wonderful community here. This is our way of saying thanks!

What's special about HONE encodes?
We guarantee that our encodes are universally Plex-friendly, in terms of naming, file-structure, quality, streamability, and efficiency.

Which encoders are part of the HONE crew?
Our current encoding roster includes myself (Weasley), PRiCK, and Fox.

What sources are used for HONE encodes?
We prefer lossless sources wherever possible. Presently we're not doing any UHD encoding but that may change once we streamline our HD operations.

What settings are used for HONE encodes?
They're pretty much the same as any other x265 content you see on here. Typically CRF or a Two-Pass is used with EAC3 audio. We keep bitrates as efficient as possible while also preserving quality. For older titles, we tend to use a slightly higher bitrate to preserve more of the source.

Anything else?
We love feedback. Please let us know in the comments what we did great, what we can do better, and what we should stop doing. We're always looking to improve and your input will help us do just that.

HAPPY HOARDING!
