PROPER Hybrid UHD release for Wrath of Man (aka Cash Truck) using best available video, HDR and audio. Special thanks to MiM and BLURANiUM for their contributions to this release.

The FRA UHD clearly had the best video but had French intertitles at the start so we used the GER UHD Blu-ray for the intro scene after the Miramax intro logo which had the proper English intertitles. FRA intro logos used as well and cut in a way to allow the Atmos upmix to be used without any delay. For optimal proper smooth transition color/grade and GOP wise, we used the GER for the remainder of the intro scene through the stylized intro credits until the black frame with white text that said "e;A Dark Spirit"e; in German. We thought about encoding and using the Amazon for that title but it was very dicey to make it all work correctly from a GOP standpoint, and technically an encode at that point as well so we decided against it. FRA used for the entire main movie after that, and GER after the credits to keep how the GER ended instead of a French end credit afterwards. Runtime ends after end credit roll to black frame and audio smoothly fades out extending the runtime-- same effect as adding black frames for that purpose.

For the most complete release possible, dynamic HDR10+ Profile B layer from Amazon VOD. The gamma was botched on the AMZN from an incorrect change during encoding of that asset. The raw dynamic metadata itself however matched how the studio HDR service master would be when checking it against the FRA UHD. This had to be synced to the aforementioned completed hybrid, and had over 1800 dynamic scenes. We then removed the precise scene metadata for the MGM logos not present on the UHD Blu-ray/our Hybrid at the head and tail of the video, made the relevant cut, updated it, and then recalculated the GER part hybrided scenes with a certified OEM HDR10+ content mapper and injected with proper professional tools. The static HDR metadata was also checked due to the differences there in various sources. The FRA's was correct, but the values would be slightly off after the hybriding of the GER intertitles, intro scene and rolling credits. So we did a full analysis on the entire asset to confirm and acquired the correct HDR10 metadata for this exact release which was subsequently injected as well without encoding.

Wrath of Man was originally mixed and released theatrically in Dolby Surround 7.1. The FRA UHD included the 24-bit lossless Digital Cinema 7.1 audio albeit at its original 24fps framerate. Given it being the original mix and intent, and the superior sound quality of this mix compared to the Atmos upmix which isn't terribly great, we opted on including it. The soundtrack was decompressed to LPCM and linearly re-clocked on a Pro Tools Ultimate DAW at 64-bits of precision from Filmspeed to NTSC 23.976. This is not a warp of pitch and tempo to a specific time (such as Film/NTSC pitch running at PAL runtime) so there is zero loss in quality when done properly. Synced to the Atmos upmix using exact real time, the bounced 8-channel stems were then encoded on the current encoder from Xperi back to DTS-HD MA 7.1 largely to negate the requirement of an additional compatibility track. Theatrical Dolby Surround 7.1 uses uncompressed LPCM in a DCP, so besides Dolby metadata there is no difference besides container used. The original 7.1 is the better sounding track in both fidelity, clarity, levels, discreteness and a number of other quality/mastering metrics, but not by a long shot. So we left the Atmos upmix as the default track and due to the customary nature of typically placing the higher "e;channel"e; count audio higher up in order. Upgraded DD EX fallback from the Atmos upmix made as well, removing the need of the header delay the CAN BD had for fit/finish.

Subtitles tonemapped & synced for this release. Custom Romanian subtitle from playBD, merely converted to NTSC and synced.

Custom named chapters from the PmP remux as well.
