--- FAQ ---
What are HONE Encodes?
HONE is primarily a little Plex-based Discord community focused entirely on HEVC content for efficiency and quality. However, we feel there's plenty of media missing from the x265 scene and so HONE encodes was founded to contribute to the cause. This is our way of saying thanks!
What's special about HONE encodes?
We guarantee that our encodes are universally Plex-friendly, in terms of naming, file-structure, streamability, and efficiency all while preserving picture-perfect quality.
What sources are used for HONE encodes?
We prefer lossless sources wherever possible, such as h264 WEB-DLs and REMUXes.
What settings are used for HONE encodes?
Encode settings are published with all our encodes.
Why is there no lossless audio in HONE encodes?
We deliberately want our encodes to be entirely Plex-friendly. That means we optimize every aspect of our encodes, including the audio. We only keep one audio track from the source. If the chosen track is lossy, we pass it through, otherwise we'll downmix a lossless track.
Why are HONE encodes named the way they are?
Our nomenclature is fully Plex-optimized and designed to give quick information about the Source and the Encode. Our naming framework is documented with examples right here.
Anything else?
We love feedback. Please let us know in the comments what we did great, what we can do better, and what we should stop doing. We're always looking to improve and your input will help us do just that.
HAPPY HOARDING!
