Face Off is a competition/elimination series exploring the world of special-effects make-up artists and the unlimited imagination that allows them to create amazing works of living art. Each week the artists are tasked with using their considerable talent to create original movie-worthy characters such as aliens, human-animal hybrids, horror villains, cyborgs and others.Challenges incorporate a wide range of skill sets including design, sculpting, molding and application. It all builds to incredible reveals of the competitors' finished work and the drama of one artist being sent home by the expert panel of judges.Series judges include three-time Academy Award winner Ve Neill (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Hunger Games) and Hollywood veterans Glenn Hetrick (Heroes, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files) and Neville Page (Lead Creature Designer on Avatar and Character Designer on Ridley Scott's Prometheus). The artists are mentored by Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Michael Westmore. Actress McKenzie Westmore hosts the series, bringing poise as well as the rich history of the Westmore family, a name synonymous with movie make-up.In the end, one artist is declared the winner and takes home an amazing grand prize package: a VIP trip from Kryolan Professional Make-up to one of their 85 international locations, the 2013 Fiat 500 and $100,000!
