Peculiarities:
Comprehensive video post-processing solution
DaVinci Resolve consists of pages, each of which is a workspace and contains tools for a specific task. Editing and Assembling for editing clips, Fusion for adding visual effects and graphics, Color for grading, Fairlight for mixing and mixing audio, and Media and Export for organizing material and creating master copies. One click of the mouse is enough to instantly switch between the stages of the project.
Mounting. The most advanced non-linear editing tools
The Editing page gives you access to the most advanced non-linear editing tools. With its intuitive interface, dual-screen support and a familiar workflow, DaVinci Resolve will appeal to newcomers and not disappoint high-profile professionals. It is ideal for large projects including feature films, TV series, streaming programs, commercials and documentaries. Drag-and-drop editing is available, context-sensitive cropping tools, customizable keyboard shortcuts, and a library of titles, transitions and effects are available. You will have everything you need to manage media assets, organize content and work with a timeline.
Assembly. Accelerated task execution
The "e;Build"e; page is intended for working on short cycle projects, including documentaries. Users of all skill levels will truly appreciate this suite of innovative quick editing tools. Provides a mode "e;Original cassette"e;, two time lines, quick viewing of content and a well-thought-out organization of the entire process. The sync box and the ability to rewrite the source significantly speed up the editing of multi-camera material and the addition of interruptions. Each mouse click is capable of performing a specific function, so it will take less time to search for commands. Plus, the scalable interface is a big bonus when using laptops.
Colour. Favorite system of Hollywood colourists
The Color page contains the most advanced Hollywood-grade grading tools, so DaVinci Resolve is used more often than any other solution for feature films and TV series. Its improved features will help aspiring colorists get up to speed with the application more quickly. The new sliders will be familiar to anyone who has worked with video editing software. They are designed to adjust contrast, saturation, temperature, halftone detail and other parameters. A wide range of primary and secondary correction tools are also provided, including PowerWindows ™ zones, qualifiers, tracking, and HDR support.
Fusion. Visual effects and animation graphics
The Fusion page has all the functionality you need to create cinematic visual effects and broadcast-quality graphics. The workflow is based on nodes, which allows you to prepare the most complex compositions and animations faster than using layers. Fusion contains hundreds of 2D and 3D VFX tools and gives you access to splines and keyframes that make an image look extremely believable. Modern means of point, plane and 3D-tracking, as well as rotoscoping and keying allow you to create photorealistic combined content, titles and 3D volumetric particle systems.
Fairlight. Professional audio processing
The Fairlight page has hundreds of audio editing tools. It is a complete digital audio editing workstation. Familiar features enable an efficient creative process and ease the transition from another system. Fairlight Audio Core includes support for up to 2000 tracks, equalization and real-time effects. In addition, there are tools for processing phonograms based on samples, dubbing and noise design. FairlightFX plugins allow you to create echoes as well as remove hum and hiss. The final track can be output in stereo, in 5.1 and 7.1 configurations, and even in the latest 3D surround formats.
Multimedia and export. Support for different formats and creation of master copies
The software package contains all the necessary tools for importing, organizing and exporting material. Although you can add files to boxes on the Build and Edit pages, a complete set of tools for sorting content, synchronizing clips and inserting metadata, and creating backups by cloning data recorded to the card is only available on the Media page. The "e;Quick Export"e; panel allows you to prepare the final version of the video and upload it to YouTube, Vimeo and Twitter services from any section of the application. In addition to this functionality, the Export page has a wide selection of encoding formats and allows sequential automatic rendering of a large number of sequences.
Resolve FX
DaVinci Resolve Studio 17 contains over 100 GPU- and CPU-accelerated Resolve FX plug-ins for adding blur and light changes, artifacts and styling, image restoration and visual enhancement. The latest version of the application has 11 additional modules that allow you to enhance texture, restore details, perform 3D-, HSL- and brightness keying, video conversion and noise reduction. They can also be used to create motion loops and blur, false color, and collages that are perfect for picture-in-picture and virtual choir performances. In addition, the functions for removing objects and dust, eliminating dead pixels and simulating film grain have been optimized. Resolve FX animations now have a new unified Inspector on the Build pages
DaVinci Neural Engine platform
The new DaVinci Neural Engine platform uses the latest technologies based on neural networks, artificial intelligence and machine learning. This adds features such as face detection, object detection and smart framing, timing effects and resolution upscaling, automatic alignment and color scheme. Compatibility with any operating system and efficient allocation of GPU resources provide unmatched processing speed and quality, allowing you to solve complex and time-consuming tasks with simple tools. For example, face recognition makes it possible to sort material, place clips in boxes and trim without manual operations.
Compatible with third party plugins and drives
Studios deal with a huge number of very different applications and systems, so they need the most flexible solution for post-production. DaVinci Resolve allows you to use any type of storage - from direct-attached drives to NAS nodes and SANs. In addition, third-party modules are supported: Open FX plugins, VSTs and templates for creating titles and CGIs. New APIs enable you to quickly integrate DaVinci Resolve into your storage infrastructure. Compatibility with all major video formats and software is also provided, making it easy to move files between DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro X, Media Composer and Premiere Pro.
Joint creativity
DaVinci Resolve is the only solution that lets you create and extend your own co-creation system. Ideal for collaborative activities, it allows you to add users who can work on the same resources at the same time. All operations are performed using a common database and a universal timeline, which allows effective interaction between editors, colorists, VFX specialists, animators and sound engineers. An additional advantage of this structure is that there is no need to import and export files, prepare and collect material. DaVinci Resolve is the only application that lets you tackle different tasks in parallel within the same project.
