Ed Powers, born Mark Arnold Krinsky on October 25, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York, entered the adult entertainment industry in 1978, performing on 42nd Street in New York City. He is renowned for his "Dirty Debutantes" series (1989-2006), which showcases amateur female performers, many of whom debut in adult films with him. Notable adult actresses including Nadia Nyce, Marylin Star, Aurora Snow, Sunrise Adams, Katie Morgan, Lisa Sparxxx, Felix Vicious, and Mia Smiles began their careers with his productions. Powers has earned recognition as #26 in AVN's Top 50 Porn Stars of All Time. He retired in 2006 after releasing volume 369 of his "More Dirty Debutantes" series.
