Leah has been in a relationship with Carson for about eight months, and it has not been going well. Initially, their relationship seemed promising, but as time went on, Carson's true personality emerged. He displayed negative traits such as being rude, lazy, cheap, annoying, forgetful, and not particularly bright. Despite these issues, Leah struggles to identify why she remains with him, aside from his ability to cuddle—though this is often interrupted by his snoring. Leah, however, remains optimistic about the relationship and attempts to encourage Carson to be ready for their date. He claims he has a Lacrosse game but insists he will be on time. As Leah arrives at the apartment where Carson and his roommate, B, live, she discovers that Carson is late. He texts her to say he will not make it on time, despite his earlier promise. Leah's frustration is palpable, to the point that even B notices and shares his own grievances about Carson's messy habits and failure to pay rent. This shared irritation leads Leah to brainstorm a mischievous idea regarding Carson.
